Glazed Redware Spaniel Bank with Applied Coleslaw Fur, attributed to George Wagner, Carbon County, PA, circa 1860, molded in the form of a seated spaniel with heavily-applied coleslaw fur and tail tip, the surface covered in streaks of green and brown over a light-orange ground. Impressed eyes and incised details to muzzle. Impressed circular locket. Carved slot in underside. Provenance: Previously of the Seamen's Bank Collection, with painted catalog number on underside. A 5/8" colored base chip. Typical minor to coleslaw. H 6 1/4".
