Five-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "T.F. REPPERT. / MANUFACTURER / GREENSBORO.", Pennsylvania origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jar with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, featuring T.F. Reppert maker's stenciling, stenciled tulips and stylized flourishes, and freehand stripes at the shoulder and base. Freehand cobalt number 5 with flourish near base. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Good color and crisp stenciling. An 11 1/2" vertical line to left side of jar's front. Spots of staining to surface, primarily on reverse. A tiny nick to one handle.
