Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES / GREENSBORO.", Pennsylvania origin, circa 1875, ovoid jug with ribbed handle and tooling to shoulder and spout, featuring the scrolled stenciled signature "HAMILTON & JONES / GREENSBORO" with leaf at center. Shoulder with swag and stripe motif. Base with freehand number 2 flanked by dashes and underscored by a stripe. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Two tiny nicks to shoulder molding.
