Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "S. HART / FULTON", New York State origin, circa 1860, ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and tapered spout, decorated with a brushed tulip blossoming from a curved stem, above a freehand number 2 flanked by a foliate accents. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Essentially as-made condition with a narrow, 2 1/8" in-the-firing contact mark to bottom edge and a minor in-the-firing contact mark to underside.
