Four-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Bird-on-Flower Decoration, Stamped "T. HARRINGTON / LYONS", New York State origin, circa 1860, ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, flared collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird perched on the blossom of a flowering plant. Good detail to bird and flower. Slip-trailed "4" to shoulder. Desirable maker, decoration, and form. Significant restoration extending from right side of reverse, around left side of churn, and onto the left side of churn's front. Some fry to cobalt. A small Y-shaped line below bird's body. A tight 4" line to shoulder on reverse, not visible on interior.
