Rare Rockingham Foot Warmer, Embossed "J.L. RUE POTTERY CO. FOOTWARMER", Matawan, NJ, circa 1881, oval form with raised signature on both sides, the surface covered in a reddish-brown Rockingham glaze. A highly unusual form for this maker. A similar example is in the collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. A thin sealed crack with a few associated chips. Expected wear to surface. L 9 3/4".
