Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON, / BENNINGTON VT.", circa 1855, cylindrical crock with heavily-tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed floral spray accented with spots. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Strong decoration with superb color. Excellent, essentially as-made condition.
