Scarce Pair of Redware Plates with Copper Slip Decoration, probably Simon Singer, Haycock Township, Bucks County, PA, late 19th century, both with coggled edges, decorated in green copper slip with crossed line designs including scrolled ends. An unusual pair with excellent color. Provenance: Christie's, The John Gordon Collection of Folk Americana, Jan. 15, 1999. Both in overall very nice condition. One with small rim chip, including a short, faint hairline from rim, other very minor rim wear, and typical light surface wear to interior. Other plate with a 1/2" rim chip, minor nicks to outer rim of plate, and typical light wear to interior. Diameter (of each) 8".
