Two-Gallon Stoneware Cream Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "BROWN & BROS / HUNTINGTON. L.I.," circa 1863-1870, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with two brushed tulips emanating from a leafy stem. Light cobalt accents to maker's mark. Provenance: Donald Matties Collection. Some light scaling to surface. Although not true exfoliation, the beginning of exfoliation is visible in some "scaled" areas on surface. Two small base chips. Three short glaze lines at base, not visible on interior.
