Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, attributed to R.J. Grier, Chester County, PA, circa 1875, both of similar cylindrical form, a one-gallon example with three drooping floral motifs around the shoulder, paired with a two-gallon jar with cobalt leaf decoration around the shoulder. One-gallon jar with a 2 3/4" hairline from rim and a 1 3/4" shallow chipped section to base. Two-gallon jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition.
