Five-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "T.F. REPPERT. / MANUFACTURER, / GREENSBORO / PA", circa 1880, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a T.F. Reppert maker's stenciling within a stylized banner. Freehand cobalt stripes at shoulder and base. Base with freehand "5" flanked by flourishes. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent, essentially as-made condition.
