One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Batter Pail with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, attributed to Nathan Clark, Jr., Athens, NY, circa 1860, ovoid form with tubular pouring spout, tall collar, and bail handle composed of wire and wood, the front decorated with a stylized spotted foliate design resembling a dragonfly. Very nice condition. A minor nick and short, minor line in handle at base on reverse. Worn spot to tip of spout. A minor rim nick.
