Two New York State Stoneware Jars with Cobalt Floral Decorations, circa 1860-1870, a two-gallon jar with stylized floral spray, stamped "J.A. & C.W. UNDERWOOD / FORT EDWARD. N.Y.", paired with a two-gallon jar with cobalt tulip decoration, stamped "RIEDINGER & CAIRE / POUGHKEEPSIE NY". Underwood jar with rim chips, exfoliation and in-the-firing lines to base, and staining. Poughkeepsie jar with flakes to surface, a thin crack on underside extending partway up side of jar, a chip to inner rim area, a hairline to shoulder, staining, and some fry to cobalt.
