Scarce Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Stenciled Cobalt Eagle Decoration, Stamped "BROWN BROTHER , / HUNTINGTON, / LI," circa 1870-1885, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a stenciled design of a spread-winged eagle with turned head. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Provenance: Donald Matties Collection. Excellent condition with a minuscule handle nick and some very faint whitish residue to surface.
