Stoneware Stump-Form Pitcher with Relief Bark and Bird Motifs, probably Ohio, circa 1890, tankard-form pitcher in the form a tree stump with sawed limbs and three relief designs of a songbird on branch. Exterior covered in an Albany slip glaze. Interior covered in a Bristol slip glaze. Approximately 4 3/4" crack from rim on reverse. 2 1/2" hairline from rim, not visible on exterior. Two minor base chips. Some overfiring to Albany slip. H 8 3/4".
