Scarce Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "HIGGINS & CO / CLEVELAND O.," Ohio origin, circa 1840, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and tall collar with squared rim, decorated with a brushed stylized leaf or tree design at the midsection and highlights to the maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent condition with small chip to underside at edge and a minor rim chip.
