Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt 1880 Date, Stamped "WEST TROY, / N.Y. / POTTERY", New York State origin, 1880, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with slip-trailed date "1880" between graduated dashes. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Rim chips, the largest on front measuring 1 1/4". Lightly-stained area on reverse.
