Rare Slip-Decorated Redware Bowl, Dated 1823, American, probably Pennsylvania, with rounded sides and heavy rim, the interior decorated in a greenish slip with the date 1823 surrounding a wavy line. Upon close examination, the decoration is applied in a copper slip, although the majority of it appears somewhat yellow. Wear to slip decoration. Small chip on interior of rim. H 2 1/4" ; Diameter 10".
