Two Scarce Large-Sized Stoneware Crocks with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "H.B. PFALTZGRAFF / YORK, PA," circa 1870-1889, an eight-gallon and ten-gallon example with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a hanging floral design on the front of each. Eight-gallon example with significant cracks, a few rim chips, and a handle chip. Ten-gallon example with hole in underside, flake and X-shaped hairline in underside, chips and wear to rim, a 3" hairline from rim, and two areas of exfoliation to surface.
