Rare Three-Gallon Stoneware Cake Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "PFALTZGRAFF & CO. / YORK, PA," circa 1855-1880, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with two brushed tulips extending from a leafy stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity, and handle terminals. This crock was likely made by John Pfaltzgraff, although the initials "J.B." are not visible on this impression. Three thin cracks from rim on front, measuring 5", 4", and 3 1/4". Rim chips.
