Three Pieces of Whites Utica Stoneware with Bird Decorations, third quarter 19th century, a one-gallon jar with pierced handles and spotted bird decoration, stamped "WHITES UTICA"; a one-gallon crock with running bird decoration, stamped "WHITES UTICA N.Y."; and an unsigned batter pail with bird-on-stump decoration. Spotted bird jar with large salt drip down front, a drip of staining down right side of front, a large base chip and a few smaller base chips, and wear to rim. Running bird crock with large chips and exfoliation to base, heavy chipping to one handle, and a few rim chips. Batter pail missing ears, with fry to cobalt, chipping to shoulder molding, a glazed-over base chip, and a small chip to spout molding.
