Fine Small-Sized Stoneware Bowl with Freehand Cobalt Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, with heavily-tooled rim and rounded sides, decorated with an undulating vine between two freehand stripes. Top-to-bottom Y-shaped crack on side of jar, continuing onto underside where it forms a tight spidering line. Shallow rim chip, possibly an in-the-firing contact mark. H 4 7/8" ; Diameter 7 1/4".
