Rare Half-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Coggled Bird Decoration, Stamped "WINE," attributed to Branch Green, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1820, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, featuring a coggled bird-and-leaf design highlighted in a band of cobalt. Impressed "WINE" above in a large font with cobalt highlight. Few Branch Green jugs are known in such a small size with an impressed liquid name. Restored handle. Tight line in spout. A few minor base nicks.
