Two Pieces of James River Valley of Virginia Stoneware, attributed to Stephen B. Sweeney, Henrico County, VA, mid 19th century, a two-gallon jug with tooled spout and bright cobalt stylized flower blossom decoration, paired with a one-gallon jar with cobalt splayed leaf decoration on the front and reverse. Jug with poorly-restored handle, poorly-restored cracks on base, sides, and reverse, a sealed crack on underside, a small base chip, a few lines to body. Jar with restoration to rim and handle, a few base chips, and a long, thin horizontal crack at base, continuing a few inches onto underside.
