Two Stoneware Crocks with Cobalt Bird Decoration, New York State origin, mid 19th century, a four-gallon crock with bird and floral decoration, stamped "W.H. FARRAR & CO. / GEDDES, N.Y."; paired with a three-gallon crock with bird on stump, stamped "ALBANY, N.Y.". Geddes crock with fry to cobalt, flakes to surface (primarily on revers), traces of old repair, a handle chip, a rim chip and small iron ping on reverse, a short hairline from rim on front, a small U-shaped hairline from rim on side of crock, and a small iron ping on front shoulder. Albany crock with fry to cobalt, three short hairlines from rim, a small iron ping on reverse, and staining to surface.
