One-Gallon Stoneware Milkpan with Cobalt Swag Decoration, attributed to J. Keister & Co., Strasburg, VA, circa 1865, tapered pan with tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and back with groups of graduated cobalt swags. Significant chipping to rim. Chipping to one handle. Shallow chipped area to opposite handle. 3 1/2" hairline on underside, extending 1 1/4" up base of pan. A small chip and a few minor nicks to underside at edge.
