Six-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Paddletail Bird Decoration, Stamped "N.A. WHITE & SON / UTICA, NY," circa 1885, ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed design of a paddletailed bird perched on a morning glory vine. Good decoration, size, and form. Churn paired with a Northeastern U.S. lid with Albany slip glaze. Churn with significant restoration, including restoration to cracks extending through bird. Lid with chips and a series of nicks to edge.
