Two Pieces of Washington, D.C. Area Stoneware, second half 19th century, a one-gallon cylindrical jar, stamped "P. HISER & SONS, / Washington, D.C."; paired with a two-gallon cylindrical jar, stamped "B.C. MILBURN / ALEXA", Alexandria, VA origin, which includes an Albany-slip-glazed lid (not original to jar). Hiser jar with very tight 3 1/2" line on underside, continuing 1 1/4" onto base, some shallow glazed-over base chipping, and an in-the-firing rim chip. Milburn jar in excellent essentially-as made condition. Chips to lid.
