One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Northeastern U.S. origin, third quarter 19th century, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed design of a bird with crest and heavy detail to breast, perched on a looping trail of cobalt. A chip on interior of rim. Light wear to area of front. Dry contact mark to front near base. A minor glazed-over nick to exterior of spout.
