Large-Sized Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Spittoon, Northeastern U.S. origin, second half 19th century, with coved sides, carved oval opening at shoulder, and tooled line at shoulder and base, decorated around the body with a slip-trailed "bee stinger" design. Brushed cobalt highlights to opening at shoulder. Albany-slip-glazed interior. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 6" ; Diameter 12".
