Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Impressed Floral Decoration, New England origin, early 19th century, finely-potted jug of highly-ovoid form with footed base, ribbed handle, and heavily-tooled shoulder and neck. The shoulder decorated with nine impressed flower blossoms accented with spots of cobalt, the base with dipped iron slip. Spout impressed "3". Professional restoration to underside. Professional restoration to crack extending from underside to shoulder, forming a Y at shoulder and extending under handle. A 1 1/4" and 7/8" base chip. A minor spout chip.
