One-Gallon Elizabeth, NJ Stoneware Advertising Jug, New York State origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jug with sloped shouldr and squared spout, impressed with the cobalt-higlighted advertising "F POMMEREHNE / 8 & 10 WEST GRAND ST / ELIZABETH N J". Midsection with slip-trailed cobalt initial "P," presumably for Pommerehne, within a diamond-shaped cartouche. Very nice condition with a base chip on reverse, light wear to interior of spout, and a few minor flakes to underside.
