Three Pieces of Salt-Glazed Stoneware, American and German, 19th century, a two-gallon jar with impressed eagle and flag motifs, stamped "GARDINER STONEWARE MANUFACTORY / GARDINER, Me"; a one-gallon undecorated jug, stamped "JOHN BURGER / ROCHESTER"; and a small Westerwald jar with cobalt chain link decoration, inscribed "6". Gardiner jar with a 4 3/4" crack from rim and rim chips. Gardinjer jar also has a swelled underside, which keeps it from sitting flat. Burger jug with glazed-over stone ping, two base chips and a few base nicks, a small star-shaped line on reverse, and wear to handle. Westerwald jar with some in-the-firing and post-firing rim chips.
