Two Pieces of Utilitarian Redware, American, 19th century, a glazed redware cake mold with ruffled rim and heavy manganese decoration over an orange ground, paired with an apple butter jar with lead-and-manganese-glazed interior. Mold with edge chips, a glazed-over chip to central tube, and a two tiny nicks to central tube. Jar in excellent condition with some over-firing to clay. Diameter (of mold) 9".
