Three Pieces of Pennsylvania Stoneware, 19th century, a one-gallon ovoid jar with cobalt floral decoration, stamped “COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA”; a one-gallon Pfaltzgraff jug with hanging cobalt floral decoration, stamped “THE P.S. CO / YORK, PA”; and a five-gallon Bristol-slip-glazed jug with black-glazed advertising for “CONSTINE’S W-BARRE. PA,” stamped “JAMES RYAN / PITTSTON, PA”. Cowden & Wilcox jar in essentially as-made condition with some blurriness to decoration and a salt drip at base on reverse. Pfaltzgraff jug with poorly-restored, uncolored handle and thin flake to spout. Ryan jug in excellent, essentially as-made condition with an in-the-firing hairline to upper handle terminal and some traces of old gold paint to surface.
