Half-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Incised Foliate Decoration, attributed to John Remmey, III, Manhattan, NY, early 19th century, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled neck and rounded spout, decorated with an incised and cobalt-highlighted foliate design with splayed leaves. Decoration, form, and color, consistent with John Remmey, III products of Manhattan, NY. Desirable size. Professionally-restored handle, as well as a small, glazed-over dent to spout, tight 2" x-shaped line on reverse, and tiny base nick. H 10 3/4".
