One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt 1836 Date, Northeastern U.S., possibly New Jersey, ovoid jug with tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and heavily-ribbed handle, decorated with brushed cobalt date "1836," underscored by a wavy line. Large spout chip. Shallow 1" chip on side of handle. Two other small, shallow handle chips. A small, minor chip and several tiny nicks to base.
