Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Freehand Cobalt Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with flattened rim, decorated with heavy freehand vining, freehand stripes, and a script "2" flanked by dashes. Several tight cracks on underside, continuing onto base of jar. 1 1/2" salt drip on side of jar.
