Two Half-Gallon Stoneware Jars with Cobalt Decoration, attributed to R.J. Grier, Chester County, PA, circa 1875, a cylindrical jar with squared rim, decorated with three brushed cobalt flowers around the shoulder, paired with a cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and tooled rim, decorated with brushed cobalt swags around the shoulder. Both jars in excellent, essentially as-made condition, with some water glass staining to surface of floral-decorated example.
