One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, attributed to Stephen B. Sweeney, Henrico County, VA, mid 19th century, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, thin squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and back with a brushed cobalt swag decoration. Excellent condition with a minor nick on top of rim and a recessed spot on one side.
