One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Tulip Decoration, Stamped "LYONS," New York State origin origin, mid 19th century, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a boldly-brushed cobalt tulip with spotted leaf. Brushed cobalt "1" above decoration. Very nice condition with only minor flaws. A minor base chip and tiny base nick, a nick to end of one handle, two short in-the-firing surface lines at base, and some typical light wear on interior of rim, where a lid would rest.
