One-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "L. & B. G. CHACE / SOMERSET," Massachusetts origin, mid 19th century, cylindrical crock with heavily-tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, cobalt-decorated with two opposing tulips extending across the front. Maker's mark flanked by cobalt swags. Several small rim chips and nicks. 1" faint hairline from rim on front. A few in-the-firing chips to underside at edge. Tight 3 1/2" line on underside, possibly in-the-firing.
