Extremely Rare Quart-Sized Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1875, small-sized ovoid jug with tooled spout and applied strap handle, decorated on the front with a brushed cobalt floral featuring an oval-shaped blossom extending from a leafy stem. Sides of jug decorated with large stylized clover blossoms or three-petaled flowers. Handle terminals and sides of handle decorated with brushed cobalt slip. One of a small number of cobalt-decorated stoneware jugs from Baltimore known. Exceptional size. Excellent condition. H 7".
