Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug with 1863 Date, probably Ohio origin, cylindrical mug with tall spout and applied strap handle, the shoulder with incised wavy line decoration. Shoulder additionally decorated with a heavy cobalt drape design, along with the brushed cobalt inscription "S R Mc / 1863 Dec. 24". Desirable Civil War era date. Excellent condition. H 15 1/4".
