Multi-Glazed Redware Cuspidor, Strasburg, VA origin, circa 1890, with narrow, heavily-tooled midsection and tall, flaring collar, the surface decorated with splashed copper and manganese over cream-colored slip. Clear lead overglaze. Excellent color. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, consigned from the Midwestern U.S. 1 1/4" rim chip. Rim with additional wear and several other minor nicks. Minor, 1/2" surface line, visible on exterior of rim only. Minor, short line at base. H 6 3/4" ; Diameter 7 1/2".
