Rare Redware Loaf Dish with Profuse Slip Decoration, American, early to mid 19th century, with coggled edge, the interior decorated with an elaborate central design of opposing yellow slip trails embellished with a wavy sgraffito line along the center. This design is further flanked by groups of four short trails accented, each accented with an incised line dragged the slip while still moist. Additional thick bands of yellow slip stripes along the edges. Some flakes to slip on interior. Wear to rim. L 16 1/2" ; W 11".
