Five-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1840, ovoid jar with semi-squared rim and applied tab handles, decorated on the front and back with a brushed cobalt garland featuring daisies, the shoulder with swags, and the handles with heavy brushwork above and dashed drapes below. Worn crack extending around most of jar, with additional chip along crack under one handle. Additional cracks extending upward from base.
