Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "E.J. MILLER & CO. / ALEXANDRIA, VA," Western PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising "E.J. MILLER & CO. / WHOLESALE / DEALERS IN / QUEENSWARE, CHINA / GLASSWARE & C. / 65 KING ST. / ALEXANDRIA. VA". Shoulder and base with freehand cobalt stripes. Base decorated with a "2" with flourishes. Crack in underside, continuing onto base area. 8" crack on side of jar. Fry to cobalt. Chip on interior of rim.
