Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "JAMES HAMILTON / & CO / GREENSBORO, PA.," circa 1875, ovoid jar with semi-rounded rim, decorated with freehand cobalt stripes, James Hamilton maker's stenciling, and a stenciled "2" flanked by leaves at the base. Base chip. Small in-the-firing chip on front. Hairline on underside, continuing 3 1/2" up front of jar. 5 1/2" line to right of stenciling.
