Six-Quart Stoneware Batter Pail with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "EVAN R JONES / PITTSTON, PA," circa 1875, ovoid form with pouring spout, metal bail handle, and applied clay handle at base, the reverse decorated with a large cobalt tulip. Additional cobalt highlights around base of spout and tabs below rim. Spout chips. Four thin cracks from rim. Hairlines at midsection on reverse. Chipping to handle at base on reverse. One tab which holds metal handle is missing. Additional metal wire below rim. H 10 1/2".
